Turrall Top Tips - Turrall at the Game Fair 2026

Turrall & Co Ltd brings fly tying, fly fishing and family fun to the heart of The Game Fair

The Game Fair 2026 burst into life at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire, bringing the very best of the British countryside together for an action-packed three-day summer celebration. At the heart of the fishing area, Turrall & Co Ltd helped make fly tying and fly fishing one of the most engaging and memorable parts of the show. Through their lively, hands-on ‘have a go’ feature, Turrall gave families the chance to discover the creativity, skill and excitement behind tying a fishing fly.

With more than 120,000 visitors expected at Ragley Hall, The Game Fair once again showed why it is one of the biggest and most exciting countryside events in the UK. Thousands of people made their way across the sun-soaked showground, creating a brilliant buzz from the moment the gates opened and giving the whole event a lively, feel-good summer atmosphere.

Across the showground there was plenty to see, try and enjoy, from clay shooting, gundog displays and falconry to countryside demonstrations and family activities. Within the fishing section, however, Turrall & Co Ltd helped create a real buzz around fly fishing. Their presence gave visitors a chance not only to watch the craft, but to take part, ask questions, learn new skills and experience the satisfaction of creating something by hand.

Turrall & Co Ltd brought real excitement to the fishing section by working closely with the Fly Dressers’ Guild to introduce young visitors to the magic of fly tying. Over the event, more than 200 children tied their very first fishing fly, turning curiosity into creativity and pride. Turrall supported the activity with prizes, daily competitions and giveaways, making the experience fun, friendly and rewarding while encouraging children and families to see fly fishing as accessible, exciting and full of possibility. Turrall also teamed up with artist Steve McKracken, whose interactive children’s art project invited young visitors to draw and paint fish, adding colour, imagination and even more family appeal to the area.

For Turrall & Co Ltd, the show was a powerful opportunity to champion fly tying and fly fishing in front of a huge countryside audience. By helping so many children tie their first fly, Turrall and the Fly Dressers’ Guild gave young visitors a positive first step into the world of angling. The mix of expert guidance, creativity, competitions, prizes and giveaways made fly tying feel exciting, achievable and rewarding. Most importantly, it helped inspire potential new fly tyers and anglers, showing families that fly fishing is not only a traditional countryside pursuit, but also a fun, creative and welcoming activity for the next generation.

Held at one of the UK’s most recognisable country estates, The Game Fair 2026 at Ragley Hall was a vibrant showcase of countryside life, but Turrall & Co Ltd’s work in the fishing section stood out as a highlight for families and young visitors. Their commitment to promoting fly tying and fly fishing helped make the show more interactive, more inspiring and more memorable, leaving a lasting impression on the next generation of countryside and angling enthusiasts.
