Welcome the first round of the Cynghrair Traws Turrall Traws League.
Traws welcomes new anglers to the competition including some from the Welsh Youth and Ladies teams. The intention is a friendly competition with no pressure on anyone, with good fun to be had by all. Fished to fishery rules to encourage new fly anglers to the sport. With a 2 fish kill any additional fish are returned and awarded 2lbs each.
The anglers were met with cold overcast conditions with a light north breeze , even so some fish were seen to be surface feeding in Home Bay. As the match began most boats stayed for a while in Home Bay whilst the others went to some of the other areas. Fish were caught in various areas throughout the lake, Home Bay area, Islyn, carreg yr ogof, Ty'n Twll using various pulling methods on primarily fast glass / Di3 lines.
At the weigh in 290 fish were recorded as caught with 244 returned giving a rod average of 12.08.
