Hayscastle Fly Fishing Competition
A very successful fly fishing competition was held at Hayscastle Trout Fishery on March 24th, a cold and sunny day.
The event was organised to raise funds for the Welsh Ladies International Fly Fishing Team. The competition was sponsored generously by Turrall & Co Ltd who donated 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes and a ‘goody bag’ for each competitor plus raffle prizes.
The youngest competitor, Ifan Hughes, (seven years of age) won with a fine rainbow trout of 3lb. 12oz.
2nd place was Ray Muskett
3rd place was Tony Davies.
The biggest bag award was won by Emyr Hughes.
Many thanks especially to Ros Evans at Hayscastle who made everyone welcome, hosted the competition, donated raffle prizes and prepared hot refreshments for us all at the end of the day. Thanks also to all competitors and other people who donated raffle prizes. There was a truly friendly competitive atmosphere and a very enjoyable day was had by all.
